#CultClashes: Goals flow freely when Chelsea and Spurs meet

Tottenham are just about still in a Premier League title fight with Leicester but that won’t be their only concern this weekend.
London bragging rights are also up for grabs and with Spurs’ biggest rivals Arsenal still in with a squeak of usurping their neighbours the Lilywhites can’t afford to be caught cold.
Chelsea certainly aren’t about to hand Mauricio Pochettino’s side all three points on a plate, evidenced by the fact that the Blues haven’t lost to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge since 1990.
But enough about now. Let’s have a look back at some truly epic #CultClashes. Hint: there will be goals.
Tottenham 2-3 Chelsea – September 16 2001
Two late goals gave the White Hart Lane crowd a grandstand finish, as Marcel Desailly bagged the win for Claudio Ranieri’s men.
A Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink brace either side of Teddy Sheringham’s rebounded goal might have given Chelsea the points, but the former England man looked to have forced a share of the spoils as he scored his 100th Premier League goal, after Frank Lampard had been sent off.
But there was to be one last dramatic twist as Chelsea’s French defender headed home to take the three points back to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham – March 11 2006
It was another French centre-half that decided things five years later as a William Gallas curler in injury time handed the Blues the spoils.
In a season that Jose Mourinho’s men only failed to win one Premier League fixture at home, you could perhaps forgive Spurs for getting ahead of themselves, as the clock ticked down following Jermaine Jenas’ equaliser just before half-time.
But it wasn’t to be as Gallas picked the ball up from the edge of the area, cut inside, and unleashed a pearler.
Tottenham 4-4 Chelsea – March 19 2008
A thriller at the Lane saw Tottenham come from behind on four separate occasions to secure a share of the spoils with their London rivals.
And once again it was a late strike, this time from a Spurs player, that decided things as Robbie Keane’s stunner followed goals from Jonathan Woodgate, Dimitar Berbatov and Tom Huddlestone to deny their visitors.
An end-to-end affair, this one had everything.
Tottenham 2-4 Chelsea – October 20 2012
Andre Villas Boas would have hoped for a happier reunion as his Tottenham side hosted Chelsea with this game his first meeting against his old club.
Things looked to be going swimmingly when first William Gallas against his old club, and then Jermain Defoe gave Spurs a 2-1 lead with 35 minutes to go.
But Chelsea were not done there, as some Juan Mata magic and a late tap-in from Daniel Sturridge provided the Blues with the perfect come-from-behind win.
Tottenham 5-3 Chelsea – January 1 2015
Voted in one poll as the best game of the 2014-15, it’s easy to see why this match makes our list.
The champions-in-waiting looked to be well on their way to another victory against Tottenham, as Diego Costa gave them a lead in the 18th minute.
But they weren’t banking on a Harry Kane-inspired fight back, and then some. Two goals from the England man, one either side of the break, led the way as Mauricio Pochettino’s men took the spoils in a high-scoring affair.
