David Moyes favourite to take up the Celtic challenge

Published:

David Moyes is the market leader to replace Ronny Deila as Celtic manager, according to Ladbrokes.

The Parkhead club announced earlier today that the Norwegian will vacate his post at the end of the current campaign and the SPFL sponsors go 6/4 it is ex-Manchester United gaffer Moyes who gets the nod.

Former Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is 11/4 to make a comeback, while Roy Keane is also at the sharp end of the betting at 6/1, with fan favourites Henrik Larsson and Paolo Di Canio also in the hat at 6/1 and 50/1 respectively.

David MacDonald of Ladbrokes News said: “Celtic clearly have one eye on next season and want to hit the ground running with a new manager in place in good time.

“Moyes was favourite for the vacant Aston Villa job but this announcement has turned things on their head and we fancy he’ll be heading back north of the border to take the reins at Celtic Park.”

Celtic are next in action at home to Ross County as they look to retain their Ladbrokes Premiership crown.

The Bhoys go into that match as the 2/9 favourites, with the Staggies on at 12/1 and the draw available at 11/2.
