Diego Costa and Edinson Cavani switch looks unlikely

Talk of a straight swap between PSG and Chelsea has had supporters of the west London club intrigued, but the deal looks unlikely to go ahead.

A range of sources including Metro and The Guardian have reported that Costa may be Paris-bound with Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani going in the opposite direction.

However, Cavani to join Chelsea and Costa to join PSG is 20/1, with reports that Antonio Conte is keen to hold onto the Brazilian striker.

The imposing Chelsea hitman looks likely to remain at Stamford Bridge this summer, however PSG are joint-favourites to acquire him, with a move to the Park des Princes at 5/1.

A return to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, where the Lagarto-born striker won La Liga in 2013-14, is the same price.

Cavani, meanwhile, is continuing to impress at PSG, and while Chelsea are the favourites if he does leave, the 29-year-old is still 5/1 to join the Blues under incoming boss Conte.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, the Manchester clubs will be looking to improve on a difficult campaign, and both United and City are 12/1 to add the talented forward to their ranks.

Liverpool also have an outside chance of securing Cavani’s signature, and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is set to bring in a new striker with Christian Benteke’s exit from Anfield looking increasingly likely.

A move to Arsenal may also prove popular at 12/1, while Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are 25/1 and 50/1 respectively to bring Cavani to La Liga.
