How Twitter reacted to that Dele Alli miss against Stoke

| 19.04.2016

Tottenham Hotspur successfully closed the gap on Leicester at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win over Stoke. Dele Alli was star of the show, scoring twice and becoming the youngest midfielder in EPL history to score 10 goals in a season.

That will not be how the football world remembers the Englishman’s performance at the Britannia Stadium though, as Alli somehow contrived to miss an open goal after rounding keeper Shay Given.

Given the former League One star did something similar for the Three Lions against Germany, Twitter naturally reacted in unison over the gaffe.

Here’s the best of it:

For starters, here’s the miss in question

And his manager’s furious reaction to it in full

Naturally, people who aren’t good enough to play football for a living found it funny

And ridiculed him

Alli’s shocker cost a lot of people fantasy football points

Eric Dier isn’t usually one to let his teammate get away with anything and most awaited
his ribbing with glee

Dier is yet to unleash on his favourite teammate, probably because Alli made up for
things with a superb volley

But the final word goes to the man himself, who posted this on Spurs’ snapchat after the game
