John Terry odds-on to extend Chelsea stay under Conte

He’s yet to renew his current deal which expires this summer, but Chelsea captain John Terry is odds-on to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge following the news of Antonio Conte’s impending arrival.

The skipper is 4/6 to prolong his time in west London, having previously stated he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The centre-half has made over 700 appearances for the Blues since 1998, but speculation has surrounded his future all season.

However, early reports suggest the incumbent Conte might well want Terry to stick around, at least for another season, and aide his early days as manager under Roman Abramovich.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Terry’s time looked to be up at the Bridge, but Conte’s arrival is set to give the skipper a new lease of life in the capital.”

Conte looks to have his work cut out if he’s to persuade Romelu Lukaku about returning to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian is 8/1 to rejoin the Blues, having endured a frustrating time in west London before being sold to Everton for £28m in 2014.

That puts Chelsea behind Real Madrid, favourites at 4/1 to grab the 22-year-old’s signature, and both Manchester clubs with United at 6s and City 7/1 to bring Lukaku under Pep Guardiola’s managerial guidance next season.
