Twitter reacts to Galileo Gold and Frankie winning the 2000 Guineas
Galileo Gold was the dark horse before this year’s 2000 Guineas but the late flurry of bets on the 14/1 shot proved to be well justified with our man Frankie Dettori steering the game outsider to a stunning victory.
It was the third renewal victory for the Ladbrokes racing ambassador and one that will live long in the memory.
Much of the antepost focus was on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Air Force Blue, the 4/5 favourite on the day, however for all his promise as a two-year-old he could only come home a limp twelfth of thirteen.
Instead, Frankie, trainer Hugo Palmer and Al Shaqab racing are left milking the adulation coming their way.
But how did the rest of the world react to their success? Here’s a snapshot of comments from the Twittersphere, starting with the market reaction.

Some of you out there are kicking yourselves for not backing Frankie’s mount.
Absolutely fuming I didn’t back Galileo Gold at 14/1! Ground drying out out me off.
