Poor Amir Khan. Just when you think he’s about to really hit the big time, out juts that glass jaw and bam! On the floor.

The Bolton native packed on the pounds to fight Mexican middleweight Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, a 25-year-old whose only loss in 48 previous bouts came via the fists of Floyd Mayweather. It proved a remarkably bad decision.

Khan was stoic from his hospital bed, with words befitting the experience of a man stopped for the third time in his professional career.
