Ladbrokes Premiership: Kilmarnock to pick up much-needed play-off confidence

An enthralling Ladbrokes Premiership season reaches its climax this weekend and while the winner and losers have all been sorted another cracking round of games is in the offing.

There may be little beyond pride up for grabs in the final six fixtures but fortunately players and fans alike are an extremely proud bunch north of the border.

Perhaps the only team with a vested interest in results this weekend is Kilmarnock who could do with a confidence boost ahead of their relegation play-off final with either Falkirk of Hibernian.

Fortunately for them they face already-relegated Dundee United who – while having a new manager to impress – are unlikely to put up much resistance.

Inverness CT V Dundee

Caley go into the final game of the season having won just once in five attempts in front of their own fans. The Dees can only lay claim to a solitary win from five on the road, however, and with four of the last five meetings between these sides ending 1-1 another share of the spoils looks like a banker.

Kilmarnock v Dundee United

The form book shows why Killie join the Terrors in the relegation picture, with just one win from their last five home games. United have picked up two away wins in that time but with their play-off final coming up the hosts will want to put on a show. Three of the last five meetings have produced four or more goals too so expect a high scoring affair.

Best Bet: Over 3.5 goals @ 7/4

Partick Thistle v Hamilton

The Accies come into this game having won three of their last four on the road while the Jags have taken maximum points just once in five attempts at Firhill. However, Hamilton haven’t beaten Partick in five attempts and with three of those games ending all square, another stalemate could well be in the offing.

Best Bet: Draw @ 12/5

Aberdeen v Ross County

The Dons may have lost last time out but that result ended a run of three successive home wins, form that should stand them in good stead against a Staggies side winless in four on the road.

Derek McInnes’ men have won four of the last five meetings, scoring three or more goals in three of those games.

Best Bet: Home Team Goals over 2.5 @ 15/8

Celtic v Motherwell

The Bhoys have lifted the Ladbrokes Premiership trophy for a fifth successive season so all that remains is to bid farewell to Ronny Deila in style. Unfortunately for Hoops fans, and the outgoing Norwegian, Motherwell are unlikely to have read the script. While Celtic have lost just one of the last seven meetings with Well only one  of their four victories in that run has come by more than a single goal.

Best Bet: Motherwell +2 @ 6/5

Hearts v St Johnstone

Hearts have enjoyed a stellar first season back in the top flight, finding just Aberdeen and Celtic too good as they finished third. However, the Jam Tarts are unlikely to seal the campaign with a win, with St Johnstone the form team in the league.

Saints have won their last four games and three of their last four away from home, With just one defeat from six meetings with the Jambos Tommy Wright’s men will fancy themselves to sign off with a bang.

Best bet: St Johnstone to win @ 14/5
