Odds tumble on Real Madrid hitman heading to Man United

Published:

With Jose Mourinho seemingly all-but-confirmed as the next man in the Manchester United hotseat, odds have tumbled on Real Madrid star Karim Benzema reuniting with his former gaffer at Old Trafford.

The French striker has netted 28 times for Los Blancos this season, chalking up three hat-tricks along the way.

And with the Red Devils needing to boost their goal-shy attack, Mourinho is believed to be very keen on recruiting a player who enjoyed his best goalscoring record under the Portuguese gaffer.

That’s led to the odds of Benzema swapping Madrid for Manchester this summer being slashed from 16/1 to 4/1, but the former Lyon forward is not the only Galactico who could don United red next season.

It’s 9/2 that Gareth Bale returns to the Premier League with the twenty-time English champions, while a homecoming for Stretford End hero Cristiano Ronaldo is priced at 6s.

Meanwhile, it’s 5/1 that United sign two or more players from the Spanish giants, while you can back a sensational triple swoop for Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale at a mammoth 500/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “With Man United needing to revamp their attack and Mourinho about to call the shots it’ll come as no surprise to see Benzema swap Madrid for Manchester this summer.”
