Will Vaulks named Ladbrokes Championship Player of the Month award

Falkirk midfielder Will Vaulks has won the Ladbrokes Championship Player of the Month award for April.

The Lowlands team have surprised many by pipping Hibernian to second spot in the Ladbrokes Championship and the 22-year-old midfield maestro has been a huge part of their continued success.

The Bairns ended April unbeaten, with Vaulks bagging three assists as the men in blue-and-white wrapped up second spot.

Setting up both goals in a 2-2 draw at Queen of the South and creating Robert McHugh’s crucial late equaliser at Hibernian, there’s no question that the Wirral-born star has been Falkirk’s man of the moment.

The versatile Vaulks also put in a superb performance at centre-back against St Mirren, inspiring his side to a 3-2 victory, and he told the Scotsman yesterday that he’s happy with people viewing Falkirk as the underdogs.

“People can keep underestimating us because it suits us”, Vaulks commented.

He added: “we can compete. And if we can get past the semi-finals, which we know we can, then I’m sure the boys will handle the occasion.”

There’s certainly no shortage of confidence about Falkirk right now, and they head into their Ladbrokes Premiership Play-offs semi-final with Hibernian in good form.

Hibs are 7/10 for victory, but Falkirk – now unbeaten in six away games – look good for the draw at 11/4 with another win for Vaulks and co. at 10/3.

Vaulks currently has six goals to his name this season, and the in-form former Tranmere Rovers youngster is 16/1 to score first at Easter Road.
