England banished the memory of injury-time heartbreak in the perfect fashion, with Daniel Sturridge’s 91st-minute goal giving the Three Lions victory over Wales. And understandably, Twitter was excited.

First, Frankie from Soccer AM was definitely not keeping his nut down.

Then, Susie from Countdown gave England fans a new word to describe their joy.

While others took a gentle dig at Wales.

And some of the Dragons fans were not in the mood.

Some even managed a bit of analysis amidst the dancing and celebrating.

And in the end, there was friendship, camaraderie and a big hug – as there always should be.

Well played indeed.
