Alvaro Morata 5/2 to join Chelsea as potential Diego Costa replacement
Published:
Alvaro Morata is just 5/2 to join Chelsea this summer, with Diego Costa continuing to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte sets about ushering a new era in west London.
As Conte builds his new-look Blues side with the acquisitions of Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante, punters are fancying the Italian to splash the cash again for the Real Madrid striker.
Morata has spent the last two years on-loan from Real at Juventus, but the La Liga giants exercised a buy-back option this summer, in order to sell him on permanently.
The arrival of the highly-rated forward could signal the end of Diego Costa’s time at Stamford Bridge, with the fiery Spaniard 11/4 to quit west London this summer.
Meanwhile it’s 7/1 Conte welcomes Morata and bids farewell to Costa before the end of the transfer window.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Conte isn’t hanging around at Stamford Bridge, and Alvaro Morata looks to be the next piece in the Italian’s Chelsea puzzle, at Costa’s expense.”
The Blues are 11/2 third-favourites for this season’s Premier League title, and will kick-off their campaign at home to West Ham.
It’s 3/5 Conte gets his new his Chelsea reign up and running with victory against the Hammers, while Slaven Bilic’s side are 5/1 to hand the Italian an early blow.
Should Morata not find himself at the Bridge next term, we still fancy the Spanish star could be plying his trade in the English game, with Arsenal rated second favourites at 8/1 to capture his services.
