Latest #WhatAreTheOdds request anticipates huge future for Wolves

It seems another club in the Midlands has been struck by takeover-fever, as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ current owner and chairman Steve Morgan looks set to finally sell the club after nearly a year on the market.
And the excitement around the Molineux at the moment has been met with a flurry of bets which have seen Wolves’ price for promotion drop from 9/1 to just 4s with weeks of transfer activity still expected.

So, what’s actually happening in the Black Country?
Chinese businessman and 119th richest man in the world Robin Li is keen to expand his portfolio of clubs in Europe having recently acquired shares in AC Milan, and although no takeover has been confirmed as of yet, it’s thought that only a delay in paperwork has prevented Li from becoming owner already.
Why Wolves?
Simply put, we don’t really know.
But the 47-year old wouldn’t be the first Chinese businessman to take over a Midlands club this summer, following Dr Tony Xia’s arrival at Aston Villa.
What are Li’s plans?
Well, unfortunately for current boss Kenny Jackett, a takeover could put an end to his three-year stint in charge of Wolves, with former Porto boss Julen Lopetegui ready and waiting to jump into the hot seat.
A takeover would also spell danger for Wolves’ current crop of players, with a whole host of European players already being linked with the club.
Anderson Talisca, heavily rumoured to be a Liverpool target this summer, is just one of them.
The 22-year old Brazilian midfielder would be available for around £21m – or as Robin Li calls it, loose change – and would have more chance of obtaining a work permit should he sign for the Championship outfit.
And while Shane Duffy remains on Jackett’s wishlist this summer, Lopetegui has also been linked with Benfica pair Helder Costa and Pele, while Monaco forward Ivan Cavaleiro is another reported target.
What initially sounded like a nonsensical rumour now looks set to be a genuine possibility, making 250/1 for Wolves to win the Premier League in the next five years a potentially realistic request.
Elsewhere, optimistic fans can back their team to be the next English side to win the Champions League at 150/1, while our traders are giving Wolves an 8/1 chance of making the top six of the Premier League in the next five years.
