Premier League: Five of the biggest egos as Zlatan joins the fray

The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United and the Premier League brings with it many things. Enhanced attention from Sweden, some wonderful goals (hopefully) and of course, a host of memorable quips and quotes driven from the ego of the man himself.
The Premier League had better prepare itself for one of football’s greatest, while journalists and media types alike will be rubbing their hands with glee at Zlatan’s arrival.
But the Swede won’t be the first man to ply his trade here who’s been his own number one fan.
Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez and Eric Cantona are just a few Premier League heroes who have looked down on everyone else from a self-installed pedestal over the years.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Has any footballer ever come with such an ego?

With everything he’s won in the game, Zlatan can probably feel pretty justified in his self-absorbed ways.
John Terry
The Chelsea legend’s ego isn’t like a Zlatan or a Mourinho, but it manifests itself whenever the defender is under the cosh mid-match.
There’s no faulting his commitment on the pitch, but it does come with a dash of ego.
Saido Berahino
Whichever way you look at it, Saido Berahino’s attitude with West Brom last season stank of arrogance for a man with just 23 Premier League goals.
It looks like the forward will get his move this summer, but the buying club had best remember the egotistical baggage that comes with Berahino’s potential.
Jose Mourinho
Anyone who declares their self as ‘the special one’ has an ego and Jose Mourinho has spent the past 12 years proving it.
When he wins, his face is smugness personified, and when he loses, hey, it’s never his or his team’s fault, right?
Alan Pardew
Any slither of doubt as to how much Alan Pardew loves Alan Pardew were eradicated with that dance in the FA Cup final.

Then there was the time the Crystal Palace manager was spotted at training in a jumper emblazoned with ‘PARDS’ instead of AP. ‘Nuff said.
