Back super Swede to be Man United’s match-winner at Bournemouth

Manchester United fell foul of Bournemouth at Dean Court last season, with the Red Devils slumping to a 2-1 defeat. But with a revamped squad, a world-class gaffer and a trophy already in the bag this season, the Red Devils are set to avenge that result with victory on the south coast this weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s men impressed in the Community Shield victory over Leicester, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic towering above the usually invincible Wes Morgan to head home the winner.

And the Summer signing from PSG looks likely to make the difference again in this clash, having slotted seamlessly into the United side, scoring a stunning bicycle-kick goal against Galatasaray less than four minutes into his debut.

By contrast, Bournemouth’s summer has seen them lose key men in the form of Matt Ritchie and Tommy Elphick, while their big-money new arrivals are stars of the future – but not the quick fix needed after losing two such crucial parts of the squad.

That lack of experience has also been evident in pre-season, with the Cherries conceding three times to League Two side Portsmouth in one friendly, as well as being held by Championship club Reading.

Combined with their 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford in May, Eddie Howe’s men are unlikely to enjoy their opening fixture.

That means Man United look the best value in the match betting with 4/5 for an away win, while 13/5 says we see a draw and it’s 19/5 for Bournemouth to repeat last season’s heroics with another defeat of the Red Devils.

However, the best bet of all could be on Ibrahimovic to score and Man United to win, which was 2/1 and NOW 5/2 as part of our price boosts. ‘Ibra’ netting and United winning is an outcome we’ve seen in each of the club’s last two games.

Meanwhile, a second successive 3-1 triumph over the Cherries could also prove popular with United fans at 14/1.
