Berahino is a sure-thing to score the most for Stoke – if he signs

Saido Berahino will comfortably become Stoke’s top Premier League goalscorer this season, should the Staffordshire side acquire the striker this summer.

Berahino’s future with West Brom has long-been a source of speculation, with Stoke hotly-tipped to be the leading club for his signature in a £20m move.

As the days count down until the transfer window slams shut, we put it to our Twitter followers to see who they think would top score for Mark Hughes’ side this term, should Berahino put pen to paper.

Marko Arnautovic top-scored last season for the Potters with 11 Premier League strikes, but it seems you think Berahino will easily be Stoke’s main attacking outlet if he signs.

Some 46 per cent of you voted for the 23-year-old to net the most for Stoke this season.

That left Arnautovic in second on 36 per cent of the vote, and Bojan way behind with just 15 per cent.

In the ‘other’ category, we had a mention for Mame Biram Diouf – a good call too having been the club’s top marksman in 2014-15, and another for Peter Crouch, though it seems he may be heading out of Staffordshire sooner rather than later.

The Potters kick off the campaign – with or without Berahino remains to be seen – away at newly promoted Middlesbrough.

Hughes’ men are 13/5 to win at the Riverside, as they look to improve on last season’s ninth place finish.
