Expected exodus at Man City could result in one more signing

He’s already spent £160m this summer since taking over at Manchester City, but the Spanish boss might just have one more big-money signing up his sleeve.

Probably a new name to Citizens fans’ ears will be Leandro Paredes of Roma, with the 22-year-old the latest player to be linked with a move to City, although Guardiola faces competition for his signature from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Argentine spent last season on loan at Empoli where he helped the club finish in a respectable tenth-place in Serie A – their highest position for nine seasons.

Paredes represented the Italian outfit 33 times last year in the league, chipping in with two goals from a deep midfield role.

He’s thought to be valued by Roma at £16m, but with Luciano Spalletti’s men interested in Samir Nasri of City, Guardiola may have the upper hand in the bidding war with his former Bundesliga rival Klopp.

Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony have all fallen into the surplus to requirements category, and should Guardiola be successful in moving all three players on for reasonable fees, he’d be left with a hefty amount in the pot to add even more quality to his teamsheet.

Arsenal have this morning been linked with a surprise £30m move for Bony as their search for a striker carries on into the latter stages of the window, while Mangala is reportedly being considered as a replacement for Shkodran Mustafi for Valencia, should the German defender leave the Spanish outfit.

With three weeks to go until the transfer window slams shut, City have already added no less than eight players to their squad, although Gabriel Jesus, Marlos Moreno and Aaron Mooy have all been sent back out on loan.
