Homecoming Hero Pogba odds-on to win Premier League at Man United

Published:

With Paul Pogba’s status as a Manchester United player all but official, the bookies make it 1/2 for the Frenchman to help bring the Premier League title back to Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a sensational campaign at Juventus in 2015-16, netting 10 goals and producing 16 assists for the Old Lady as they won the domestic double of Serie A and Coppa Italia.

With the Old Trafford youth product set to become the world’s most expensive footballer, United fans will be expecting him to match those feats in Manchester.

It’s 3/1 for the powerful midfielder to net 10 or more times in all competitions, while 5/2 says he produces assists in double figures. Having managed both of those feats in Turin last season, those odds are sure to prove popular.

Chalking up the goals and assists could also see the Euro 2016 finalist earn the chance to wear the captain’s armband, with 6/1 for Pogba to lead the Red Devils at any time next season.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “United fans can’t contain their excitement at #Pogback and their prodigal son could become the next Old Trafford icon if he chalks up the goals and earns the captain’s armband.”

Man United begin the Premier League campaign with a visit to Bournemouth this weekend, with 3/4 for Jose Mourinho’s charges to taste victory on the south coast.

All the signs suggest the Red Devils will be lining up with the world’s most expensive footballer in their side – so can he provide a crucial contribution to send those odds of 10 or more assists and goals tumbling?
