Optimistic Huddersfield fan in hopeful #WhatAreTheOdds request

Published:

It’s been a bright start to the new season for Huddersfield Town, so much so that one fan has decided to back the Terriers to unbeaten all the way until Christmas.

The Yorkshire side are one of four sides to have started the new Championship season with two wins out of two.

After opening with a 2-1 win at home to Brentford, David Wagner’s men really stood out last weekend, beating pre-season favourites Newcastle by the same scoreline at St James’ Park.

The impressive start has got Terriers’ fans in buoyant mood, but none more so than the punter behind our latest request.

One very hopeful supporter is really fancying the team to do well this season, and our latest #WhatAreTheOdds request is to back Huddersfield to still be unbeaten at Christmas at a price of 66/1.

It’s a tall order, with no side going so far into the season unbeaten this century.

The closest to achieving the feat are Fulham and Reading, who have each reached Christmas Day with one loss.

Having finished 16th or lower since returning to the Championship in 2012, the request epitomises the new-found belief at the John Smith’s Stadium this season.

One of the Terriers’ biggest potential stumbling blocks may lurk tonight, when the Yorkshiremen head to Aston Villa.

Under Roberto di Matteo, the Villans got off to sluggish start in their first year outside of the Premier League since 1988, losing 1-0 away at Sheffield Wednesday.

But a 3-0 win at home to Rotherham on Saturday may have kick-started the Birmingham side’s campaign.

For the sake of our latest #WhatAreTheOdds request and one very optimistic Huddersfield fan, let’s hope the Terriers can at least return to Yorkshire still unbeaten.
