Expect goal-hungry Barcelona to cruise through next La Liga game

| 15.09.2016

Alaves pulled off probably the biggest upset in recent La Liga years last week, beating Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou. Luis Enrique’s men had equalised just after half-time and looked likely to go on and grab a winner, but Ibai’s 64th minute strike put the away side back in the lead and they held on to snatch all three points.

But don’t let that put you off the Catalan giants this weekend, as they face another team that gained promotion last season from the Segunda division in Leganes. This is a Barcelona side that have a point to prove, as Celtic fans will tell you.

The pair have never met before, and although Leganes managed two clean sheets in as many games prior to last weekend, their 2-1 defeat to Sporting Gijon last Sunday suggests there are cracks appearing in their defensive line.

And that’s the last thing their fans want to see as they head into a game against a side who scored 45 goals away from home last season – that’s more than seven teams in La Liga could manage both home and away in the 2015-16 campaign.

Barcelona began last weekend’s game without Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta, but those three will almost certainly slot straight back into the starting XI come Saturday lunchtime.

And we reckon there’s plenty of value in the handicap markets, with 16/5 on offer for Enrique’s men to win with a -3 handicap, while an even more optimistic punter can get 7/1 for Barca to win by four or more.

Messi, Suarez and Neymar already have 13 goals and 10 assists between them in all competitions so far this season, and you can expect those figures to rise come full-time on Saturday.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
