Jurgen Klopp attracting old Bundesliga enemy with Liverpool

| 25.09.2016

Before he came to make Liverpool one of the most potent attacking threats in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp spent his time trying to stop Bayern Munich’s dominance in the Bundesliga.

As manager of Borussia Dortmund, the 49-year-old regularly took on the Bavarian giants and even managed to beat them to the league title on two occasions in 2011 and 2012.

Now in the top-flight with the Anfield club, Klopp’s days of going up against Bayern are behind him. However, his work with the Reds appears to have convinced the German superpower to bring him on board.

According to the Daily Star, the Munich side see Klopp as the perfect successor to Carlo Ancelotti, despite the Italian only taking over the reins at the Allianz Arena this summer.

The paper say Bayern are willing to play the long game to land their man, as they currently have no cause for complaint with Ancelotti, who has guided his new side to a 100 per cent record in six all-competition games.

Klopp himself has no reason to want out of Anfield, with Liverpool sat in fourth place in the Premier League as the second top-scorers in the division.

So impressive is the Reds’ form that we’ve made them the second favourites to win the title at 11/2, although that still puts them some way off Guardiola’s Manchester City, who are priced up at 4/7.

After a 5-1 demolition of Hull last time out, Liverpool will travel to Swansea for their next assignment. We make them 10/21 to win that game and 6/4 to score over 2.5 goals.
