Odds cut on Hillary Clinton following big post-debate wager

Hillary Clinton - 1st US Presidential Election debate

Hillary Clinton’s odds of becoming the next US President have been cut by our political traders following the first televised election debate.

Political punters believed Clinton had the edge over her opponent during the TV debate in New York overnight.

And the Democrat has seen her price contract significantly into 4/9 (from 8/13) following sustained support, which includes a £5,000 wager placed during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s odds have shifted out to 7/4, which equates roughly to a 34 per cent chance of entering the White House, having dropped from 42 per cent prior to the 90-minute duel.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The market has moved heavily in favour of Clinton and high-staking punters are back throwing their weight behind the Democratic candidate.”

Ladbrokes latest betting:

2016 US Presidential Election

Hillary Clinton 4/9

Donald Trump 7/4
