Optimistic punter fancies Man City’s unbeaten run to continue

While one half of Manchester is full of doom and gloom after three consecutive defeats, the other half couldn’t be feeling better following eight wins in as many games under their new manager.

And one punter has asked us to price up the odds of this unbeaten run lasting the duration of the season, so that’s exactly what we’ve done!

The great thing about our #WhatAreTheOdds service is that it allows you to bet on pretty much whatever you fancy by tweeting @Ladbrokes – just like this winner did back in August.

As impacts go, you don’t get much better than Pep Guardiola’s at Manchester City.

He safely guided his side to the Champions League group stages with a 6-0 aggregate win over Steaua Bucharest, he’s sitting comfortably at the top of the table after a 100 per cent winning start, and he’s already beaten Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at Old Trafford.

And one punter thinks Guardiola can achieve a career first by remaining unbeaten all season, something which has only been done once before in the Premier League by Arsenal back in the 2003-04 campaign.

If anyone is capable of matching Arsene Wenger’s incredible record from 12 years ago, it’s Pep. The Spanish boss has lost just 19 of a possible 259 league games in his managerial career since taking over at Barcelona back in 2008.

He’s come close to an unbeaten season on several occasions in the past, most notably losing just one game in the 2009-10 La Liga campaign, but Manchester City have never lost less than five over 38 matches in the top-flight, so it’s a big ask for this one to come in.

And that’s why we’re offering 25/1 for the Citizens to go a whole year without experiencing league defeat.
