X Factor Update: Matt Terry now clear favourite to win show

Published:

Nobody can stop Matt Terry from winning this year’s X Factor according to the latest odds after last weekend’s Bootcamp auditions. The 23-year-old from London has seen his odds fall from 5/1 to just 7/2 in the space of a week, as the show continues to get rid of any dead wood.

And other than Matt’s odds dropping, there’s been very little movement in the market behind him, as Caitlyn Vanbeck remains second-favourite at 5/1, while The Brooks are the only other act with single-figure odds at 7/1 to be just the second group to win the show since it began back in 2004.

Meanwhile, the other big talking point of the weekend centrered around the judges and which categories they’ll mentor this year.

Nicole Scherzinger with the Boys and Simon Cowell with the Girls are 2/1 joint-favourites to be the winning judges, while Sharon Osbourne’s Overs are 3/1 second-favourites to win and (once again) Louis Walsh and the Groups are the 4/1 outsiders.

Perhaps one of the biggest market movers in recent days is Christian Burrows who, at 25/1, is still considered to have an outside chance of being crowned the winner.

However, the 19–year-old’s odds were as high as 50/1 prior to the weekend’s performances, and for that reason, he’s our one to watch this week.
