Inverness CT v Rangers: In-form Caley man to get among the goals

Published:

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are riding the crest of a wave after taking nine points from their last five games in the Ladbrokes Premiership, and they’re likely to spell trouble for a Rangers side who are struggling on the road this season.

Richie Foran’s men are in a rich vein of form right now, having taken points from meetings with Aberdeen and Celtic in the past five games, in addition to home wins over St Johnstone and Dundee.

By contrast, the Gers’ only league win in the last five came against bottom-of-the-table Partick Thistle at Ibrox, conceding seven goals in their last two away games, at Pittodrie and Celtic Park.

That means that Inverness look overpriced for victory at 14/5, with Rangers odds-on to win at 20/21 and the draw at 12/5.

One man at the heart of Caley’s upturn in form has been tricky midfielder Liam Polworth, with the 22-year-old producing a string of excellent displays, as well as goals in the last two games – against Dundee and Hamilton Academical.

It’s 4/1 for Polworth to score anytime, while 12/1 says he nets the game’s last goal – just as he did against Accies.

However, while Foran’s boys do look good value for the win, they haven’t kept a clean sheet in the past nine games in all competitions, meaning Inverness to win and both teams to score could well pay out at 6s.

Another victory for the Highlanders, and Foran could be well on the way to securing a second successive Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month award.
