Meet the prolific Uruguayan teen ready to commit to Liverpool

Despite reportedly having to sit through the dire 0-0 draw against Manchester United as a guest of Liverpool’s, young Uruguayan trailist Agustin Davila has enjoyed his two-week stay on Merseyside enough to consider moving to the club on a permanent basis.
At least that’s what reputed breaker of football news International Business Times say and it’s a word strong enough for the Daily Mirror to repeat the story on their own website.
The 17-year-old brought a reputation for goal scoring with him from Atletico Penarol, where he has supposedly been named top marksman at U14, U15 and U17 level, netting over 100 goals during an unfathomably prolific youth career.
A lack of even Wikipedia page makes it hard to corroborate those figures, which is perhaps what pushed Liverpool to bring him to England for a trial in the first place.
They certainly saw the Uruguayan’s eye for goal for themselves, as Davila managed to find the net in a friendly against Walsall during his time on these shores.
IBT suggest that the Reds’ scouts have been keeping an eye on the teenager for a couple of years, so his performances while training with the club could finally persuade the decision makers to lodge a bid.
With a number of youth-teamers stepping up in class to help Liverpool knock Tottenham out of the EFL Cup in midweek, Davila will certainly be joining a highly-regarded academy at Anfield.
Whether he’s able to develop into the Merseysiders’ next Luis Suarez is a question that is a long way from being answered, but it appears the 17-year-old has at least impressed enough to be allowed to follow in the now Barcelona man’s footsteps.
