Odds slashed on Arsenal snapping up Man City’s goalscoring great
Published:He may be one of Manchester City’s most beloved players of all time, but Sergio Aguero could soon find his name sung by the fans of a current Premier League rival – Arsenal.
The 28-year-old was benched for the Citizens’ recent clashes with Barcelona and Manchester United, and with Arsene Wenger reportedly ready to swoop for the Argentine, his odds of a move to the Emirates have been knocked down from 16/1 to 6/1.
With Olivier Giroud now six games without a goal for the Gunners, and Lucas Perez yet to shine, Wenger could well be willing to dish out the big bucks to secure the services of a player who has netted an astonishing 107 goals in 157 Premier League games.
However, the Gunners could face competition for his signature from fellow London big boys Chelsea (10/1) and Tottenham (16/1), while Liverpool are also priced at 16s.
Real Madrid lead the betting overall at 7/2, but they could be pushed into second spot by Arsene Wenger and co. before long.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Arsenal are gunning for the Argentine ace, and the bookies reckon Aguero could leave City fans seeing red by heading to a Premier League rival.”
For now, the Gunners’ current strike force need to prove their worth to Wenger at Sunderland on Saturday.
It’s 2/5 for an Arsenal win at the Stadium of Light, while 11/10 says Giroud ends his wait for a goal.
