2016 Football Blogging Awards: Meet the finalists – EasyOdds

| 10.11.2016

We’re now just a week away from finding out which of our finalists will be named the Football Blogging Award’s Best Gambling Blog, as sponsored by Ladbrokes News. So to give you some insight into the day-to-day lives of each of our nominees, we caught up with them to ask them about all things blogging.

Today is the turn of EasyOdds!

Ladbrokes News: Describe a day working for EasyOdds

Arrive. Raise hell. (Research upcoming matches to provide tips on site, social media and on YouTube, then write daily topical news and opinion pieces.) Leave.

LN: Proudest blogging moment to date?

Being nominated for this award!

LN: What makes you guys stand out from the competition?

We offer free tips with the very best prices using our odds comparison service, point out great value prices available via social media and we are an independent voice in the betting industry, meaning we can dictate what offers and prices we feel are the best value for the punter, not the bookies themselves.

LN: Best tip ever?

Wigan to beat Man City in the FA Cup final takes some beating, but we managed it with a 10-fold landing in the Football League with odds of over 1000/1 last season!

LN: If you had a £100 free bet on any Premier League outright market this season, what would you back?

Liverpool to be top at Christmas. They have a great fixture list in the next few weeks.

LN: Which team always lets you down?

Southampton. When I fancy them to win they draw, when I think they will get beat they pull off a result!

The Saints are sinners in my eyes!

LN: Biggest near-miss?

Without doubt last season when I cashed out on a sevenfold at a very big price with three minutes left of a Juventus game where they were showing no signs of life. They went on to bundle one in on 93 minutes. Livid. Cash out is a twisted genius.

LN: Do you have any luck on other sports?

There’s other sports? Not for me personally, but we have Jake Johns on the horses over at and he is a brilliant tipster that I recommend following if you’re into your racing.

LN: What advice would you give to new punters?

Shop around to get the best value!

For example, the anytime goalscorer market in particular shows huge differentiation in prices. Big centre halves can sometimes be as big as 33/1 and as short as 10/1 in the same game.

Keep an eagle eye and don’t settle for less.

There are some big prices out there.
