Donald Trump’s Presidential odds cut yet again with a week to go

Published:

Donald Trump’s odds to win next week’s US Presidential Election have shortened up yet again.

The Republican candidate is now rated at just 2/1 to enter the White House, which means with a week to go the likelihood of the New Yorker winning now equates to a 31 per cent chance, up from just 10 per cent a few days ago.

It continues the remarkable rise for the Apprentice host, with the bookies originally including Trump in the Presidential market at 100/1 less than 18 months ago.

Meanwhile, Democrats nominee Hillary Clinton remains the odds-on favourite, however her price has continued to drift significantly to its current standing at 4/11.

The former Secretary of State was 1/6 last week to succeed Barack Obama in the White House.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The money is continuing to pour in for Trump, leaving us with little option but to repeatedly take the scissors to his odds.”

A series of swing states have also turned Trump’s way in the past week or so, including strong Arizona and Iowa ahead of Tuesday’s vote.

It’s 16/1 that Obama is still sitting President on Feb 1 2017, with 33/1 on offer that anyone other than Clinton or Trump wins next week’s election.
