Leicester City v Club Brugge: Foxes to ease past goal-shy visitors

Published:

While Leicester City are struggling to find form in the Premier League, it’s been a whole different story in the Champions League – with the Foxes comfortably topping their group. And they’re set to build on that continental success with a win over struggling Club Brugge.

The Foxes ran out 3-0 winners at Jan Breydel Stadium in the reverse fixture, and the signs all point to another easy win for the East Midlands club.

Brugge have been dismal on their travels, losing six of the last nine away from home, and scoring just once in their last five away games.

And despite a hit-and-miss campaign for Claudio Ranieri’s men, the King Power stadium has remained something of a fortress, with 11 of the Foxes’ 12 points in the league coming on their own patch.

Having soundly beaten the likes of Crystal Palace and Burnley already this season, there’s little chance of their goal-shy visitors scoring, let alone returning to Belgium with a point or more.

In the match betting, Leicester look the smartest choice even at the short odds of 4/9, while Brugge are 13/2 outsiders and the draw priced at 10/3.

However, with the Foxes strong favourites to claim all three points, the 5/4 for the hosts to win to nil against Michel Preud’homme’s men looks to be a genuine banker at odds-against.

Meanwhile, a repeat of the 3-0 scoreline Leicester triumphed by in September could prove an inspired bet at 17/2, while it’s 13/8 that in-form striker Islam Slimani nets in a victory for Ranieri’s boys.
