It may still be early days across Europe’s top divisions, but there are a handful of young players who have enjoyed a fine start to the season in Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.

Ladbrokes News takes a look at three names that will have undoubtedly caught the eye of Premier League scouts in recent months, and we begin with a player who almost became an Arsenal player in the summer.

Mauro Icardi

The Gunners were linked with 23-year-old Icardi for the majority of the summer, but Inter were unwilling to let the striker go for anything less than £40m, a sum Arsene Wenger didn’t want to part with.

And it’s clear to see why the Serie A outfit were so keen on keeping Icardi, as he’s already bagged 10 league goals this season, making him one of the leading scorers in Europe.

It’s frightening to think where I Nerazzurri would be without the Argentine, too. He’s scored over half of their league goals this campaign, with the club currently sitting in the bottom half of the table.

Another poor season from the 2009-10 Champions League winners could see them lose the forward for significantly less than what Arsenal were willing to pay for him in the summer.

Kasper Dolberg

This is Dolberg’s first season with the Ajax senior team, and it may well be his last if he carries on performing the way he has been in their opening 13 games.

The 19-year-old is leading the Eredivisie scoring chart as things stand, with eight goals and two assists to his name.

And while the forward only signed for Die Godenzonen in 2015, he’s already attracting interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs.

Dolberg is proving himself to be a key figure at the AmsterdamArena, netting two goals in the Europa League, taking his total tally for the season to 10 from 17 games.

If he can maintain that rate throughout the course of the season, Ajax may well cash in on their latest wonderkid.

Christian Pulisic

Borussia Dortmund have their very own gem in Pulisic. Granted, it may be Ousmane Dembele that’s grabbing all the headlines, but the 18-year-old midfielder has already matched his appearance and goal tally of last season.

In the last campaign the American was something of a bit-part player, featuring in nine league games and grabbing two goals.

This time out though, he’s already matched that figure, scoring the same amount of goals but adding assists to his game, with six in all competitions so far.

He’s one of the hottest properties around right now, so Premier League sides would need to fork out a substantial amount were they to prise him away from Westfalenstadion.

However, there is hope for English sides, as Pulisic does have experience of playing in this country.

Granted, he was seven-years-old at the time and on the books of Brackley Town, but perhaps a reunion may be on the cards one day!
