The incredible odds on a Leicester/Brexit/Trump treble

Published:

They said Leicester wouldn’t win the Premier League, they said United Kingdom wouldn’t vote to Leave the European Union, and they said Donald Trump wouldn’t win the United States Presidential Election.

But Leicester did win the Premier League.

The UK did vote to Leave the European Union.

And Donald Trump did win the US Presidential Election.

Each one was deemed an outsider in their respective markets.

The Foxes created football history at 5000/1 when they won the Premier League in May.

The UK was 5/1 to say goodbye to the EU in June.

And Donald Trump was 150/1 to succeed Barack Obama in the White House last summer.

Put all that together and what have you got?

One almighty treble paying out exactly 4,530,905/1. That’s just over 4.5m/1.

Yep.

It’s been quite a year.

And there’s still time for another surprise winner too, with Honey G just 7/1 now to win the X Factor having been 100/1 in September.

Good luck predicting what might happen in 2017.
