What connects the Champions League and Lincoln? A mega £5k acca!

Monaco, Real Madrid, Leicester City, Borussia Dortmund and, err, Lincoln City. They may not be natural bedfellows but these are the fabulous five teams who delivered a whopping return for one smart cookie.

The Tuesday night Match Result with Both Teams to Score Acca paid out a mega £5,062.50 from a £10 stake.

And while that bare fact is impressive enough it doesn’t begin to describe the drama that unfolded.

Let’s start off with Spurs, shall we?

Having been beaten at Wembley in the reverse fixture, Mauricio Pochettino’s side already knew all about the threat Monaco carried.

However, they didn’t heed the warning signs and found themselves a goal down shortly after half-time.

A Harry Kane penalty restored parity but the north London outfit conceded just 39 seconds later to lose the match and go crashing out of the Champions League.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid left it late in Lisbon with Karim Benzema’s 87th minute strike finally settling matters in Los Blancos’ favour.

And even Champions League kings Leicester were made to work to hold onto their advantage

Having established a two-goal lead in the first-half the Foxes were pegged back soon after the interval by Club Brugge. But thankfully for our footy fanatic, Claudio Ranieri’s side held on to secure another memorable win.

While Leicester were under the cosh, Dortmund were running riot in their 8-4 victory over Legia Warsaw – the highest-scoring game in Champions League history.

And finally, let’s celebrate the joker in the pack. National League high-flyers Lincoln crushed York at Bootham Crescent with the Imps racing into a 2-0 half-time lead.

While the hosts managed a consolation goal it was the visitors who ran out 4-1 winners and in turn put the seal on this eclectic and profitable punt.
