Chelsea odds-on for the title after ninth win in a row

Published:

Chelsea are now odds-on favourites to win this season’s Premier League title after securing their ninth win in a row at the weekend.

Diego Costa’s match-winning goal against West Brom ensured his side went three points clear at the top of the table and the bookies have reacted to the Blues’ latest signal of intent.

Antonio Conte’s men are now 10/11 to win the Premier League having been as big as 20/1 following their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in late September.

However, that result and Conte’s much-heralded change in formation has sparked an incredible winning sequence that’s resulted in the Pensioners’ odds being repeatedly slashed.

Costa has already equalled last season’s tally having netted his 12th league of the season against the Baggies.

Furthermore, the Spaniard has been involved in 17 league goals this season with those goals and five assists to his name – more than any other player.

Costa’s resurgence in particular has highlighted the new broom Conte has swept through Stamford Bridge and right now there’s no sign of any let-up.

Second-placed Arsenal are next best in the outright market at 4/1 while Manchester City have drifted to 9/2 following their 4-2 humbling at Leicester.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are just 1/3 to beat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday with the Black Cats a massive 8/1 to put a spanner in the works and the draw priced at 17/4.
