Ian Cathro odds-on favourite to take the reins at Hearts

Following the news that Robbie Neilson has joined the MK Dons,  Newcastle assistant manager Ian Cathro has emerged as the 1/3 favourite to take charge at Tynecastle.

If handed the post, Cathro would become the youngest-ever manager in Scotland’s top flight history.

Hearts legend Steven Pressley is the 11/4 second favourite, while current number two Stevie Crawford can be backed at 16/1.

Further down the field, former cup-winning boss Paulo Sergio, and Jambos favourite Rudi Skacel are both at 33/1.

Paul Fulton of SPFL sponsors Ladbrokes said: “Ian Cathro seems to be the name on every Hearts fan’s lips and we’ve installed him as the odds-on favourite.”
