ICYMI: Aberdeen extend their dominance over Hamilton Accies

| 28.12.2016

Aberdeen kept up the pressure on second-placed Rangers and continued a fine run of form against Hamilton Academical yesterday afternoon.

The Dons ran out 2-1 winners at Pittodrie and in doing so made it seven consecutive wins at home against Accies.

Derek McInnes’ side took a deserved lead on 34 minutes when Ash Taylor headed in although the visitors equalised soon after courtesy of a Dougie Imrie penalty.

However, Adam Rooney’s 11th goal of the season settled matters with 22 minutes left on the clock while Hamilton’s Scott McMann was shown a late red card.

Accies remain second from bottom in the Ladbrokes Premiership table and are 10 games without a win while Aberdeen have closed the gap on Rangers to four points.
