ICYMI: Rangers strengthen their stranglehold on second place

Ian Cathro’s managerial debut didn’t go to plan at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon with his Hearts side beaten 2-0 by Rangers. 

Rob Kiernan headed the hosts in front on 29 minutes while Barrie McKay prodded home after half-time to seal the points.

Mark Warburton’s side are now four points clear of Aberdeen in third and five points clear of their Edinburgh rivals.

Hearts had beaten the Gers in Robbie Neilson’s last game in charge but the Glasgow giants earnt their revenge and in turn consolidated their second-placed position in the Ladbrokes Premiership table.
