Three men Bob Bradley could sign in January to aid Swansea fight

The New Year is right around the corner and with it comes the first chance for Bob Bradley to make significant improvements to his Swansea City side. And judging by their results, the Swans need them.
Ahead of the Premier League’s midweek action, the Welsh outfit sit in the relegation zone with just three wins from 15 games.
After entering the top-tier in 2011 and endearing us all with their attractive football and teamwork, the Swans have endured a gradual descent characterised by a haphazard squad and big-money failures.
But Bradley knows there is quality in his team with which he can build around and he is targeting at least one defender in January.
Gylfi Sigurdsson is easily Premier League quality, while Fernando Llorente is starting to come good too following a slow start to life in Wales, and there’s little reason to dispose of Lukasz Fabianski in goal.
So, who can Bob Bradley sign in January to keep the Swans in the top-flight? We’ve picked out three names…
Kevin Wimmer
With Toby Alderweireld back to full-fitness, Wimmer’s chances of a look-in at Tottenham appear slim.
The Austrian has featured just four times this term for Mauricio Pochettino, and his best chance of football this year looks set to come elsewhere.
Bradley has stated he’s looking for a defender, and the 6ft 2in pacey centre-half would be a welcome addition at the Liberty Stadium.
Tom Carroll
Another man in the cold at the Lane is Tommy Carroll, who is well regarded in Swansea after an impressive loan spell in 2014-15.
That lead to 27 appearances for Spurs in the following season, and it appeared the 24-year-old had become a regular at White Hart Lane.
But the arrival of Victor Wanyama has pushed Carroll back out of the reckoning. A loan deal could be ideal for Bradley, with the energetic Carroll eager to kick-start his career once again.
Dimitar Berbatov
This sounds crazy, but the Bulgarian is a free agent and remains keen on a Premier League return.
Granted, the 35-year-old won’t bring the work ethic needed for a relegation fight, but his quality could be vital in handing the Swans crucial points in the second half of the campaign.
This sort of deal does have precedent. Christophe Dugarry had exactly that kind of impact for Birmingham back in 2003.
