X Factor star Saara Aalto has peaked at exactly the right time
Published:She’s the slow burner the nation has come to love and now Saara Aalto may be on the brink of landing this year’s X Factor crown.
The Finnish singer is now the 8/11 favourite to win the 2016 series on Sunday having toppled long-time jolly Matt Terry at the head of the betting.
And having been as big as 100/1 at one point, victory for Saara would cap a remarkable path to victory.
The 29-year-old left mentor Sharon Osbourne speechless following her rendition of Sia’s Chandelier while earlier on she belted out Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Meanwhile, Matt had to cope with being in the sing-off with Emily Middlemas, as well as contend with criticism from Simon Cowell.
The London crooner had been an 8/11 shot before the Christmas Week Live Shows began but his price has since drifted to 2/1.
5 After Midnight are the other act to make this year’s final with the trio 9/2 outsiders to pull off an almighty shock.
Elsewhere, it’s 7/4 for Saara and Matt to finish first and second while it’s 9/4 for the reverse to happen.
5AM are 4/7 to finish third in the competition and looking slightly further ahead, it’s 3/1 for this year’s X Factor winner to nab the coveted Christmas Number One spot.
