Arsenal & Liverpool can leapfrog Spurs while Man City can close gap

Just five points separate Tottenham Hotspur in second and Manchester United in sixth right now in the Premier League, although whatever happens this weekend, Jose Mourinho’s men can’t break into the top four, as they’re four points off the pace.

But while Chelsea look to be running away with the title, this still looks set to be one of the closest run-ins we’ve seen in years for the remaining Champions League spots.

But who’ll find themselves where come close of play on Sunday evening?

It’s time for the Ladbrokes News team to make our predictions for the weekend ahead…

I don’t think we’ll be seeing many upsets this weekend.

Liverpool are playing a side that have won one of their last seven in all competitions – and never won an away league match against them – while Arsenal are at home to a side who’ve picked up just one point from a possible 27 on the road.

The standout game has to be Man City v Tottenham.

While City got battered last time out away at Everton, I just can’t see them losing this one. Not with so much at stake.

Pep Guardiola has come in for a lot of stick this season, while pundits have been raving about Spurs’ performances. But if City win here, they’ll be level on points with Tottenham.

Anything but a Spurs win could see them fall to fourth if results go the way I’m expecting.

Liverpool’s point advantage over Arsenal means I can see them ending the weekend in second place, with the Gunners just behind them in third.

I’ll go with a Man City win, too, which would put Tottenham in fourth place, ahead of City only on goal difference.

Chelsea can’t move anywhere, and more or less everyone is expecting them to beat Hull. However, while I think the Blues will be too strong, their opponents have looked much more solid since Marco Silva took over the reins.

There could be plenty of value in backing Chelsea to win by just the one goal at Stamford Bridge.

I really can’t see an upset at Anfield. Swansea have lost their last five games there, conceding 18 in the process.

I think Arsenal will probably prove just too strong for Burnley, but I wouldn’t be all that surprised to see that game finish level.

As for the game of the weekend, Tottenham have an excellent record against City, and I’m backing them to keep that up this weekend. They’ve won each of the last three matchess between these two sides and they’re in great form.

Pep’s men, on the other hand, were woeful at Goodison Park. Away win all the way, for me.

That means I think the top four will remain exactly as it is right now, with Arsenal maybe dropping points in fourth which would give Man United the chance to close in on a Champions League spot.
