The draw for the 2017 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup first round has been made with host city Hull throwing up an intriguing tie involving two of its own.

West Hull will play Hull Dockers on the competition’s opening weekend while the city’s university team face a tough home tie against 2016 Challenge Trophy winners Rochdale Mayfield.

Elsewhere, the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force will enjoy home advantage against Myton Warriors and York Acorn respectively.

Meanwhile, last season’s plucky underdogs Lock Lane face a short trip to face the Thornhill Trojans and the London Chargers will welcome Welsh outfit, Bridgend Blue Bulls.

The Deep aquarium was the venue for the gala ceremony with last season’s winning coach Lee Radford drawing the home teams and RFL President, Air Commodore Dean Andrew taking care of the away sides.

Here’s the draw in full…

First round ties will be played on the weekend between January 28 – 29 with the winners of those games making-up the second round to be played February 11 -12.
