Transfer Update: Payet 1/3 for West Ham exit this month (and more)

Published:

Dimitri Payet’s acrimonious split with West Ham United looks sure to happen before January ends, according to our traders – with 1/3 on offer for the want-away winger to depart in the coming days.

The surly star refused to play for the Irons in last weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, and his relationship with both club and fans at London Stadium looks to be beyond repair.

But while the unhappy Hammer looks to be on his way, they aren’t convinced that Diego Costa will also be departing London. It’s 5/2 for the Brazilian to part ways with Chelsea in the coming weeks, as he looks set to turn down the financial lure of the Chinese Super League.

However, it’s not only potential exits which are catching the eye today.

Fiorentina’s Mauro Zarate looks set to join Watford, with a move to Vicarage Road now just a 2/5 shot. The former West Ham and Birmingham City man has impressed this season in Serie A, but it seems Walter Mazzarri will bring the Argentine back to the Premier League just a year after he exited east London.

Elsewhere, another South American star could be making a Prem move – but it’s from one top-flight club to another.

Middlesbrough’s Gaston Ramirez is currently 7/4 to head to Leicester City before the window ends – having previously been 4/1 to make the move.

But West Ham fans needn’t feel left out, with the east London outfit the most likely destination if Leeds United’s Chris Wood decides to move, at 5/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “It seems Payet’s off and Costa’s not, but it’s the potential arrivals which will be of more interest to those of a Leicester or Watford persuasion.”
