AC Milan could take Tottenham’s Sissoko problem off their hands

Tottenham’s continued dilemma over what to do with Moussa Sissoko could find itself a happy solution this summer, with AC Milan ready to snap up the midfielder.

After a starring turn for France at last summer’s European Championships, Sissoko was a man in demand, and Spurs won the race.

Handing Newcastle United a hefty £30m for his services, Spurs fans were left wondering which Sissoko was going to show up week after week.

As it turns out, the White Hart Lane faithful now share the same frustrations as those from St James’ Park.

The 27-year-old showed a glimpse of his potential in the October win over Manchester City, but since then things have taken a sour turn.

Sissoko has featured for more than an hour on just three occasions since then.

And in total, he is averaging just 39 minutes of football per appearance.

It appears boss Mauricio Pochettino is losing faith in his big-money signing too in recent weeks, with each of Sissoko’s last five matches seeing him on the pitch for less than 20 mins.

And with continued reports suggesting neither club nor player are happy with the other, it seems the union isn’t going to last.

So step forward AC Milan.

The Serie A giants are expecting to be one of the busiest buyers and biggest spenders this summer, thanks to a takeover from a Chinese consortium.

The San Siro outfit have already been linked with a number of Premier League stars, including Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

But a far more likely deal would be to go for Sissoko, who is unlikely to be missed in the white half of north London, especially if they can quickly recoup that £30m outlay.
