Donald Trump backed into odds-on for first term impeachment

Published:

Donald Trump is now a shade of odds-on to be impeached or resign during his first term.

Back in November 2016 when Trump was named President-elect we made it a 3/1 shot he wouldn’t serve his first full term due to impeachment or resignation.

But savvy political punters have continued to back the odds at all rates down and it is now chalked up at just 10/11.

Earlier this week that price had been 11/10, before being trimmed into even-money.

However, on the flip side, it’s also 10/11 the Republican does serve a full term for any optimistic punters out there who are willing to wait four years to collect their winnings.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The money is showing no signs of slowing down and we’ve been forced to cut Trump’s impeachment odds accordingly. We’ve taken five times the amount of bets on him failing to see out his full term than on him doing so.”

She added: “Ladbrokes didn’t even offer odds on Obama being impeached or resigning, which speaks volumes about the current President.”
