ICYMI: Celtic march on as Boyata secures three points against Dons

Dedryck Boyata - Celtic

Celtic made it 28 games unbeaten and went 25 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership when beating Aberdeen 1-0 last night.

Dedryck Boyata’s towering header on 57 minutes proved the difference at Parkhead, in a match where the hosts were made to work hard by their third-placed opponents.

Aberdeen showed plenty of belief in the East End of Glasgow and the sides contested an even first-half.

However, even without the likes of the injured Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths, the Hoops still had plenty to trouble their visitors.

And Brendan Rodgers’ side edged in front when Boyata met Scott Sinclair’s fine centre. The latter almost made it two although the woodwork denied his sublime curling effort.

In the end, that missed opportunity didn’t matter as Celtic saw out the game in the manner we’ve all become accustomed to.

Here’s how it all unfolded…

Aberdeen remain third while the champions look untouchable at the summit.
