Pacquiao v Khan: How Twitter reacted to confirmation of this bout
Manny Pacquiao v Amir Khan is on – at least, that’s the word from both camps. Both fighters have this morning announced via their social media pages that the bout will be taking place on April 23.
As if boxing fans weren’t already being treated to an incredible year in the sport!
Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KOs), looked all but set to fight Jeff Horn after a deal was reportedly agreed earlier this year. But Pac Man has since decided against that potential bout in favour of the one we all want to see.
Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) suffered a brutal KO loss to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez last time out. But after what will have been 11 months out of the ring, we’re expecting the Bolton-born WBO World welterweight title challenger to come back fighting.
Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted. #PacquiaoKhan

All the negativity surrounding the #PacquiaoKhan fight is from bitter, jealous Kell Brook fans. It’s a great fight.

Why are some people so bothered with Pacquiao fighting Khan?! I like that fight, a lot. Former stable mates both with speed. #PacquiaoKhan

Khan will do a lot better against Pacquiao than against Canelo because it’s at welterweight. Could go the distance, or close #PacquiaoKhan

#PacquiaoKhan gets juices the flowing but only just. Both past their best and they’re too pally. It’s a speed test. That glass jaw though…
