Chelsea just 2/1 to add Monaco duo to ranks in huge summer raid

Chelsea boss favourite to not be manager at Chelsea ahead of 2018-19 season

Chelsea fans can prepare for a hectic summer of huge signings, if the latest odds are anything to go by.

Despite looking increasingly likely to breeze to the Premier League title, Antonio Conte is reportedly already looking at areas of his side which can be improved.

And while we reported earlier in the week that Manchester United will try to persuade Monaco duo Kylian Mbappe and Tiemoue Bakayoko to move to Old Trafford, it looks as though Conte has his eyes on two more Las Monegasques stars.

Step forward Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva.

Reports today are suggesting the Blues will part ways with more than £40m for the pair of 22-year-olds, and should a bid materialise, it would be hard for the Monaco to turn down such a fee.

And our traders seem to think there’s something in the latest reports, as they make it just 2/1 for Chelsea to sign BOTH players this summer.

Silva has been a key player for the Ligue 1 leaders so far this season, showing his versatility by playing out on either flank, while proving just as effective in a number 10 role.

As if Chelsea needed another player like that…

He’s scored six and assisted nine already this campaign, and it’s likely a whole host of elite European clubs will be keeping an eye on him between now and the summer.

His teammate Mendy, meanwhile, has been equally as effective for the French club, but from a much more defensive side of things.

They may have already netted a staggering 87 goals in their respective league (that’s 29 more than Paris Saint-Germain have managed at the time of writing), but Monaco are also proving to be a tough nut to crack defensively, too.

They’ve conceded just 26 goals this season, giving them a goal difference of 61 – simply phenomenal.

And with 19 appearances to his name, Mendy can take a lot of credit for that.

Having operated as a left-back and a left-midfielder, he’s undoubtedly a Conte-style player.

And with five assists to his name, the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard would relish his service from out wide.

It’s certainly worth keeping an eye on this pair over the coming weeks. And you’d be wise to get used to them now, because they could be coming to the Premier League very soon.
