David Jones early favourite to replace Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday

David Jones is the early favourite to succeed Jeff Stelling following reports that the Soccer Saturday presenter could be about to retire.

The Monday Night Football host has been installed as an 11/10 shot ahead of Sky colleagues Julian Warren and Simon Thomas at 6/4 and 2/1 respectively.

Next in the running are Natalie Sawyer and Hayley McQueen – both available at 3/1.

The bookies also make face of Countdown and Friday Night Football, Rachel Riley, a 5/1 shot for the position should Stelling call it a day.

It’s 20/1 for BT Sport man Jake Humphrey to make a shock move to Sky, while 200/1 says Chris Kamara takes up the role.

There’s even room for Arsenal Fan TV’s Robbie Lyle at 100/1, a price he shares with fellow Gooner Piers Morgan.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “David Jones looks the obvious pick, although there are plenty behind him in with a chance of getting the job.”

“But Kammy replacing Jeff? Now that would be unbelievable.”
