Juventus v Porto: Hosts’ home form points to comfortable victory

Published:

Juventus look certain to reach the last eight of the Champions League tonight, having already chalked up a 2-0 away win against Porto. And the hosts’ impressive home record suggests they’ll not just qualify – but go through in style.

Max Allegri’s side have won their last nine games at Juventus Stadium, including victories over the likes of AC Milan, Napoli and Lazio.

That run has been due in large part to the goals of Uruguayan forward Pablo Dybala, who has scored nine times in as many games on home soil – and looks well priced to add to his tally here.

There’s 9/1 on offer for the 23-year-old to net two or more goals against Dragoes – as he did twice in February – while our traders make it 11/5 that he scores anytime and Juve win.

Elsewhere, there looks to be plenty of value in backing the Italian giants to chalk up a victory without conceding. Juve have managed six clean sheets in their last 10 games in all competitions, while Porto have failed to find the net in six of their last 11 on the road.

That means it’s well worth backing the 13/8 for I Bianconeri to win to nil.

However, it might take until the second period for the hosts to flex their muscles. Of Juve’s last five home wins, they’ve only led at half-time once, so the Half-Time/Full-Time: Draw/Juventus at 10/3 looks a surprisingly safe bet at that price.

In the match betting, Juve are 4/6 favourites to win the second leg, with Porto 9/2 and the draw priced at 13/5.
