Roy Hodgson now the even-money favourite for Leicester City job

Roberto Mancini was the initial favourite to be the next Leicester City manager, then it was Nigel Pearson. Craig Shakespeare then topped the betting after Monday’s win over Liverpool, but now former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is the even-money market leader.
The reigning Premier League champions sacked Claudio Ranieri last week, just nine months after the Italian lead them to glory at odds of 5000/1.
Shakespeare was ousted in the market last night, after reports from the Daily Mail claimed the Leicester board have begun secret talks with former England boss Hodgson.
The 69-year-old has been out of management since standing down from the Three Lions last summer.
He boasts no shortage of Premier League experience however, and that could prove vital with the Foxes still fighting to stave off relegation.
Interim Leicester coach Shakespeare has been bumped down to second in the betting at 15/8.
Guus Hiddink remains in contention at 7s, while Alan Pardew continues to come in, tumbling from 12/1 to 8/1.
Former favourite Pearson is now alongside the ex-Crystal Palace boss at 8s, and our traders fancy it’s between those five now.
That’s because the odds balloon out to 20/1, where immediate favourite Roberto Mancini now sits.
The Italian is joined by a host of names, including Gary Rowett, Martin O’Neill and Roberto Di Matteo.
It’s not known yet when Leicester expect to make a decision by, with the Foxes next in action this Saturday against Hull City.
But our odds of 4/5 for a Foxes win suggest that whoever is in charge should be picking up three vital points.
